Get ready to race through the capital

This Saturday, May 23rd, the streets of Vilnius will pulse with energy as thousands of runners take part in the biggest spring running event of the year – the “If” Vilnius Half Marathon. With new, faster routes designed for personal bests, the city is set to become a spectacular race course. Whether you’re lacing up your running shoes or cheering from the sidelines, it’s a day of incredible atmosphere you won’t want to miss.

To make way for the athletes, key city streets will be closed to traffic, so be sure to plan your travel accordingly and come support the participants!

Choose your challenge

This year’s event offers a distance for every level of runner, from seasoned marathoners to families running for fun. The main routes will wind through the city’s most scenic spots, starting from Cathedral Square.

  • 21.098 km Half Marathon: The ultimate test, this route crosses the Green Bridge, loops through the city center, and takes runners past iconic landmarks and through the charming streets of Užupis.
  • 10 km Race: A fast and dynamic course that guides runners along the river, through Gediminas Avenue, and around the beautiful Bernardine Garden.
  • 5 km Run: A perfect distance for those looking for a fun challenge, this route explores the heart of the Old Town, passing through its historic and picturesque streets.
  • 4.2 km Run: An accessible and enjoyable run for all ages through the central part of the city.
  • Kids’ Run: A special race for the youngest athletes right in the heart of the event, on Šventaragio Street.

Run for a cause with team Unbroken

The event will kick off with a powerful and symbolic 200m run featuring five Ukrainian war veterans from the “Unbroken” team. Everyone is invited to join this special distance to show solidarity and support. All funds raised will be donated to the “Unbroken Kids” fund, helping children affected by the war.

Important information for residents and spectators

To ensure the safety of all participants, major traffic restrictions will be in place. The main race routes will be closed to vehicles from 13:00 to 22:00 on Saturday. Šventaragio Street will be closed for the entire day, from 00:00 to 22:00. Spectators are encouraged to arrive on foot or by public transport, keeping in mind that some bus routes will be altered.
