This year’s 2,000 free composting bins in the Vilnius district were snapped up in record time! If you missed out, don’t worry. A new, convenient solution for managing your garden and yard waste has arrived, making seasonal cleanup easier than ever.
A new way to manage garden waste
To help private homeowners and garden communities, municipal companies have launched a new collection service using large, 1-cubic-meter big bags for all your biodegradable (green) waste. When you sign up, you receive a bag to fill at your own pace.
The collection time is scheduled individually to fit your needs, offering a flexible and hassle-free way to keep your property tidy throughout the warm season, from April 1 to November 30.

Getting your garden waste handled is straightforward. Here’s a breakdown of the costs:
- Single big bag collection: €70
- Each additional big bag: €10
- Transportation fee: €1 per kilometer (for the round trip from the company’s garage)
